THE HOME DEPOT CENTER AND CSUDH PRESENT
THE 2010 MUSIC, MOVIES & MORE SYMPOSIUM TUESDAY, MAY 4
Music Legend Chaka Khan was the Headliner at the Second Annual Event
The Home Depot Center Charitable Foundation and California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) teamed up again to present the second annual "Music, Movies and More Symposium" on Tuesday, May 4, as part of CSU Dominguez Hill's 50th Anniversary celebration. The half-day educational symposium was composed of five sessions featuring professionals from the entertainment industry, including legendary music icon Chaka Khan, Power 106 and SUBELO! radio deejays and Pocos Pero Locos hosts E-Dub and Khool Aid, plus executives and writers from Music Connection Magazine.
The free symposium held at the CSUDH Loker Student Union introduced college and high school students to some of the most powerful people in the entertainment industry - both on-site and behind-the-scenes - and educate them on the future of the industry.
The event featured three panel discussions - careers in entertainment; music technology; visual arts; and an up close and personal discussion with Chaka Khan, moderated by Music, Movies & More founder and producer and Home Depot Center Charitable Foundation Director, Tamala Lewis. The symposium offered a five-minute demo listening session by music industry executives.
